Wasn't LBJ the beginning and Obama the end of he 2nd Reconstruction? And the redemption following that is ramping up with unparalleled vigor with Trump's implementation of Project 2025 and authoritarian destruction of the degree of multiracial democracy achieved in the pasr half century?
At the Reconstructionist, we apply my theory of the American Cycle to discuss the trajectory and rhythm of the US. According to this theory, LBJ would fall within America's second Abolition and Obama would be America's second Reconstruction. Trump is definitely America's second Redemption/Regression. I would suggest that, after the 60's, after LBJ, a quarter century of effective affirmative action (surely problematic in ways and conflicted in effect) helped achieve numerous Black men and women both in responsible working-class positions and in professional positions (medicine, law, clergy, teaching up to the highest levels), and also in political office, decades before Obama, and that a second reconstruction therefore began earlier than the election of Obama. I appreciate that you use the word 'within' for LBJ with possible intent as well for Obama.
